How does the custom garment process work?
The custom garment process is unique for every client, but the first step is always to submit an inquiry through out Custom Garment intake form.
After we review your information we’ll be in touch to schedule a virtual introduction and discuss your vision, budget, and timeline.
Design Consultations & fittings are held in our North Austin studio
-
How far in advance should I submit an inquiry?
Our capacity to take on custom projects is somewhat limited, so earlier is always best to ensure we are able to fit your project into our schedule.
However, we prefer a minimum of 4 months lead time ahead of your event date.
Projects that are accepted with less than 4 months of lead time will incur and additional 20% rush fee
-
How much should I expect to spend on a custom garment?
All of our custom garments are priced based on the estimated materials and time required to complete the project.
Every project in unique but generally our pieces range from $1,500 - $10,000
Please note that beaded and embellished gowns will generally be quoted at $3,000+ due to the labor-intensive nature of hand beading
-
Will I have an opportunity to change my design throughout the process?
Yes! The first time your try on your design will be your toile fitting, where you will have an opportunity to change design elements before we start on your final piece.
Minor tweaks can be accommodated throughout the fitting process but major design changes after the toile fitting will incur additional fees.
-
Im not located in Austin - can I still purchase a custom garment?
Absolutely, we are able to create custom garments for anyone, anywhere in the world.
The process looks a little different but we’re happy to take on projects regardless of location.
Clients located outside of Austin will have limited opportunities for fittings and as a result should be aware that third party alternations could be required at the expense of the client.
Clients in Texas are welcome to travel in for fittings. We’re also happy to come to you for a small travel fee.
-
What should I do to prepare for my introductory call?
To prepare for your introductory call you should work to solidify your vision, whether it’s the silhouette of your garment, overall vibe, fabrics you love, or inspo images.
We’ll be discussing what you love and what you don’t so we can begin the process of designing the perfect custom piece.
You should also come with a timeline and budget in mind.
Bridal clients who don’t have a strong vision are advised to try on dresses in person at least once to get an idea of what they like.
-
What is a toile?
A toile is a cotton mockup of your design. This gives us an opportunity to check the construction and sizing on your garment before beginning on the final piece.
It’s also an opportunity for you to see your sketch come to life for the first time and make any final tweaks to the design.
-
Can you replicate a dress from another designer or website?
No - copying designs from other companies or designers is intellectual property theft and not something that we do here at Cesara Reve.
We are happy to take inspiration from various pieces that you love but every garment we create is an original design and we will not take on clients looking to replicate pieces from other brands.
